Call for Volunteers: Teaching and Learning in the Round Committee

Purpose

We are seeking volunteers to serve on the Teaching and Learning (TL) in the Round Committee. This committee plays a key role in showcasing innovative teaching and learning methods within Interior Design education.

TL in the Round highlights creative projects, assignments, and learning activities developed by Interior Design educators, fostering the exchange of practical strategies that colleagues can readily apply in their own classrooms. The committee collaborates with the Collaborative Coordinator and Collaborative Director to plan TL in the Round presentations and facilitate these highly interactive sessions at the annual conference.

“Teaching & Learning in the Round” is a dynamic round-table format where educators present their teaching innovations multiple times to small groups of attendees who rotate between tables. This structure encourages meaningful dialogue, active engagement, and the sharing of diverse perspectives.

If you are passionate about advancing teaching excellence and supporting educator-to-educator learning, we invite you to join this important committee.

Requirements

Committee members are expected to demonstrate ability and willingness to work effectively and collaboratively in a team, demonstrate leadership and professionalism, and previous experience and interest in teaching and learning methods into IDEC initiatives and collaboratives.

For more information about the position, review the Document 7 of the IDEC Policy & Procedures, revised December 2024. https://idec.org/about/governing-documents/
