Dr. Hessam Ghamari is an Associate Professor of Interior Design at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) and a U.S. Fulbright Research Scholar. With over 15 years of experience in architectural and interior design, he has made significant contributions to healthcare, hospitality, commercial, and residential projects. Dr. Ghamari earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Interior Design from Texas Tech University in 2014, and his expertise spans environmental psychology, neuroarchitecture, and evidence-based healthcare design, with numerous publications in these fields.

Selected as the College of Health and Human Development Research Fellow at CSUN, his design philosophy centers on creating healthy, human-centered environments by addressing users’ physiological and psychological needs. Dr. Ghamari integrates insights from environmental psychology and healthcare design to enhance well-being in various settings.

Dr. Ghamari has served as a keynote speaker at conferences and scholarly venues worldwide. He holds leadership roles as the Director of Strategic Initiatives and a board member at the Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC) and serves as the Director of Academy Awards and a board member at the International Academy of Design and Health (IADH). His work has earned awards such as the Irene Winifred Eno Grant from the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).
