The Teaching Excellence Award recognizes an individual’s or team’s success in the development, innovation, and delivery of a specific educational experience that yields exceptional student learning. Any IDEC member in good standing can make a nomination for the IDEC Teaching Excellence Award. Individuals may not self-nominate.
Please note that the intent of this award is to recognize the contribution of a specific teaching innovation, not an evaluation of the candidate’s career accomplishments beyond the innovation itself. Please ensure that the candidate’s submitted CV reflects any items related to the teaching innovation such as related funding, conference presentations, exhibits, and/or publications.
Each nomination shall contain the following information:
A jury of professionals (previous awardees and/or IDEC members knowledgeable in the area of submission) will review all nominations and evaluate based on a common rubric. Final award nominees are presented to the IDEC Board of Directors for approval and ratification. Award winners will be publicly celebrated at the annual conference and will be announced to the full international IDEC community.
Please note awardees will be asked to maintain a service commitment to this award for two years following the award acceptance. This service ensures sustained knowledge and excellence in the review process. Willingness to participate will be requested prior to the subsequent year’s awards review.
