The Buffalo Connection: From Early Modernism to Design Ideas for Tomorrow
October 17-19,

Buffalo, New York

Let’s set the stage for an inspirational and exciting regional conference.  Buffalo has been making architectural history from the 1800’s.  From Louis Sullivan’s Guaranty Building to Frank Lloyd Wright’s Darwin Martin House Complex, Eero and Eliel Saarinen’s Kleinhans Music Hall and Louise Bethune’s Hotel Lafayette.  As masters of restoration and repurposing, H.H. Richardson’s Buffalo Psychiatric Center is now home to the fashionable Hotel Henry and Shea’s Performing Arts Center has been returned to the original glory of its Louis Comfort Tiffany grand interior.  The city with history is now a region that’s re-imagining its future through design.  This is the backdrop for presentations and conversations in a border city that celebrates its architecture, its international connections and its cuisine.
